.NET Samples

Sample applications in both .Net and Java are available that you can use as the starting point for your own project. These sample applications also demonstrate how to consume our web services API.

Each .Net sample application is a console application which will run stand-alone in a console window. We recommend that you also use the debugger and step through the sample application’s logic to better understand it. The sample application is intentionally simple and lacking robust error handling and security logic in order to allow you to see the code needed to make requests of the Dayforce HCM web services.

Prerequisites

• The Web Services feature needs to be enabled and configured on your Dayforce HCM application. Additional information is available in the Dayforce Web Services Configuration Guide, which is available in the Download Documentation area.

• You need to have at least Visual Studio 2022 or a similar tool installed.

• You need to have the following NuGet packages installed:

  • Newtonsoft.Json 13.0.1 - Used for serialization and deserialization of JSON.

  • RestSharp 111.4.1 - A client library for making REST calls.
